Bjarne Håkon is a highly sought-after strategic adviser with extensive experience from both politics and the communications field. He combines strong strategic insight with a deep understanding of political processes.
As a government minister in three different ministries, he led major reform processes in which effective internal and external communication were essential to building public support.
He served as Minister of Agriculture from 2000 to 2001, Minister of Labour and Inclusion from 2005 to 2008, and Minister of Health and Care Services from 2008 to 2009. After leaving government, he co-founded the communications agency First House in 2009 together with Jan-Erik Larsen, and remained there until September 2016.
Before his time as Minister, Bjarne Håkon served as a Member of Parliament for the Labour Party from 1997 to 2009. During this period, he was a member of the Standing Committee on Business and Industry (1997–2001) and Deputy Chair of the Standing Committee on Social Affairs (2001–2005). From 1995 to 1997, he served as County Mayor of Nord-Trøndelag. In that role, he also chaired the Landsdelsutvalget for Nord-Norge, and later served as a member of the Labour Party’s National Executive Committee from 2002 to 2009.
